Give Aqiqa For Your Newborn Child

To offer an Aqiqa or sacrifice for a newborn child is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (saw).

An Aqiqa involves the sacrifice of one goat for a girl or two goats for a boy, with the meat being distributed to disadvantaged communities.

It can be offered at any point after a child’s birth, but it is recommended to perform it within the first week.

Celebrate the birth of your newborn and share the joy with those in need through the Muslim Hands Aqiqa service.

As well as the sacrifice of the animal, we also offer an Aqiqa pack which includes a recommended book on parenting in Islam and Sadaqah to cover the weight of a child’s hair (£10 at current silver prices).

Once your Aqiqa has been completed you will receive a feedback photo of the Aqiqa animal.

Note: Due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, delivery of the Aqiqa could be delayed. This will not affect the validity of your Aqiqa in any way.

If you have any specific instructions for your Aqiqa please contact our donor care team on 0115 911 7222 first.
